Do you have a long term health condition or are you pregnant? Did you know that being more active could improve your health and wellbeing?
Our Health Referral Scheme is a great way for people with long term health conditions to increase their activity levels with the support of our highly qualified staff. The Health Referral Scheme is a 12 week programme which can be attended at any BPL centre in Barnsley and offers the opportunity for you to attend supervised activity sessions to manage and control your health. Physical activity is a proven method in the management and improvement of certain low risk medical conditions, as well as a prevention of other health risk factors.
Any health Professional can refer into the programme or you can self-refer online using the form below. Once we receive your referral we will contact you to arrange your free initial consultation where we will discuss the programme, find out more about you such as your lifestyle and what you want to achieve and then take basic health measurements. We will then design a suitable personalised exercise programme for you to follow each time you attend and arrange your first exercise session where we can show you your programme . At week 12 we will arrange for you to attend your final assessment where we will re-take your measurements to evaluate the impact the programme has had upon your health, as well as discussing the options to allow you to continue to exercise with the support of our Fitness Instructors.
